Michael P. Higgins
Managing Director and Head of U.S. Real Estate Finance, CIBC World Markets Corp.
Mr. Higgins joined CIBC in 1996 to set up a commercial real estate securitization business, which has since grown into a full service real estate finance business providing a wide array of financial solutions to a broad base of clients.
Prior to joining CIBC, Mr. Higgins was Vice President and Head of Commercial Mortgage Origination & Structuring at Smith Barney, Inc. Prior to that, he held various positions in the real estate and banking divisions of Paine Webber Group, Inc. and The Chase Manhattan Bank N.A.
Mr. Higgins has over 20 years of experience in the banking and real estate industry and has been involved in all aspects of the business.
Mr. Higgins holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from National University of Ireland, Galway, and a Master of Science degree in real estate finance from New York University. He is a member of the board of the National University of Ireland, Galway, and sits on the New York University Real Estate Institute Advisory Board.
