Scott Bere

Scott Bere is the Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer with CIBC World Markets Inc. – CIBC’s wholesale banking business. In this role, Mr. Bere is responsible for all of Treasury’s trading execution activities, including the execution of CIBC’s Asset and Liability Management strategy and its Short-Term and Mid-Term Funding requirements.
Prior to joining CIBC in 2009, Mr. Bere held the dual mandate as Country Treasurer for Citibank Canada and Co-Head of Risk Treasury for Citibank NA New York. Mr. Bere has also held the positions of Director, Global Macro Proprietary Trading, Vice President - Head of Trading in Warsaw and Prague with Citibank and as Director, Global Foreign Exchange with Barclays Capital in London.
Mr. Bere holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario and is a member of the Wholesale Banking Management Committee of CIBC.
