Geoffrey S. Belsher

Geoff Belsher is Managing Director and Global Head of Investment Banking for CIBC. He is responsible for the firm's Investment Banking business, including its mergers and acquisitions, public equity and debt financing activities.
Prior to joining CIBC in 2009, Mr. Belsher held senior positions at a number of Canadian and global investment banks. During this time, he advised on a wide range of significant domestic and cross border transactions.
Before his career in investment banking, Mr. Belsher was a lawyer at a major Canadian law firm from 1984 to 1997. He practiced in the area of corporate law with a focus on corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Belsher holds an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School and a B.A. from the University of Toronto. He is also a member of the Wholesale Banking Management Committee of CIBC.
